Jewel Grace (Mahon), McKeon, 80, devoted wife, mother and friend died on Friday, (April 29, 2016) at home. Born in New Haven, CT, December 27, 1935, daughter of the late James B. Mahon Sr. and Dorothy Hodgins Mahon. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years Philip Stephenson McKeon, her sons Steven P. McKeon, James S. McKeon, Brother James Mahon Jr., and Sister Katherine Salvato. She is remembered with love by her daughters Susan M. McKeon and fiancé David Brown of Longwood, FL, Elizabeth A. McKeon and Kevin McDermott of Suffield, CT. Ann- Marie McKeon, Darlene McKeon and her grandchildren, Heather Kantrow, Zachary McKeon, Erica McKeon, James McKeon, Erica Brown, Cody Brown. Her sister Marliyn Cullen and husband Ray. Also, extended family, the deceased David B. and Alice (Peters) Irwin. She is remembered with love by Nancy Bulter and husband Joel, David P. Irwin and wife Virginia, Charles R. Irwin and wife Ann-Marie, Dorothy Clode and husband Jeffrey, and several nieces and nephews. She was raised in West Hartford, graduating William Hall High in 1952, a Windsor resident for 39 years, employed as a LPN at Hartford Hospital and member of St. Gertrude Church. She loved music, dancing, gardening, reading, walking and the beach. She was proud of her Heritage and had a special bond with her Irish Grandmother. During retirement spent 14 years in Florida with her special friend Ed Hollick. She was an instant companion, joyful friend and an inspiration to all. Her fun loving spirit added zest and laughter to everyone around her, as all that knew her would attest, she never met a stranger. Family and friends may gather on Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6- 8 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT 06096. Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church 1747 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT 06095 followed by burial service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
