Helen Ann  Fritz
Helen Ann Fritz, 91, of Windsor Locks, beloved wife of the late George Fritz, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Hartford Hospital. She was born on June 14, 1924, in New Britain, CT; daughter of the late Anthony and Martha Bakanas. Helen was a resident of Windsor Locks since 1953, she was employed for Hamilton Standard and New Britain Machine. She was a faithful communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church. She was a member of the St. Robert Bellarmine church Women’s Society, she taught CCD for 14 years, and was the first female Eucharistic minister at St. Robert Church serving for 13 years. Helen was an avid gardener who enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She is survived by her two children David Fritz and his wife Marnette of Monroe and Judith Fritz of Windsor Locks; two grandsons, Ryan Fritz of South Norwalk and Tyler Fritz and his wife Diana of Newtown; and a great-grandson, Austin Elmer Fritz. In addition to her husband George she was predeceased by her three siblings. Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring Street, Windsor Locks, CT. A funeral procession will gather on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain. Memorial donations in Helen’s memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 52 South Elm Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096.
