Obituary for Robert F. "Bob" O'Connor

Robert F. (Bob) O'Connor,78, of Enfield , beloved husband of Alice M. (Avery) O'Connor, entered eternal rest, Tuesday May 10 2016 surrounded by loved ones at home. Born in Brooklyn NY on June 1 1937, son of late John V. O'Connor and Sarah A. (Grady) O'Connor was a resident of Enfield for 45 years. Bob was an owner/operator as an electrician of B&W Electric Company as well as A-OK Electric company. He was finally employed and retired after many years of dedicated service to the United States Postal Service in Windsor Locks. He also served with the U.S. Army from 1958 until his discharge in 1962. He enjoyed traveling to exotic warm locations especially Cancun Mexico. In addition to his wife Alice, he leaves behind four children: Bob O'Connor of Granby, Alicia M. Duquette and her partner Mark Lyon of East Longmeadow MA. Peggy Nadeau and her husband Bill of Suffield, and AnnMarie O'Connor of Enfield. A brother John O'Connor of Orlando FL. and a twin sister Roberta Barget of Patchogue New York. He was a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren: Joe and Kelly (West) Duquette of Ellington, Stephen Duquette and Ashley Silliker of Williamstown MA, Jessica(Nadeau) and Adam Begnoche of Suffield, Jeremy Wyse of Enfield, Kaitlyn, Amanda and Timmy O'Connor of Granby, John and Jami Nadeau of Suffield. As well as a Great Grandfather to Hunter and Broden Duquette of Williamstown MA.
His family will receive friends at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road Enfield CT on Monday May 16, from 1-3 pm and 4-7 pm. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Monday at 7 pm. Burial will be held privately at the family's request. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Masonicare Partners Home Health & Hospice 111 Founders Plaza, East Hartford CT 06108 and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 20 Batterson Park Road, Farmington CT 06032.
