Norman Charles "Norm"  Keene
Norman C. "Norm" Keene, 82, of Enfield, passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield. Norm was born July 8, 1934, in Hartford and raised in Bloomfield. He was the son of the late Charles and Laura (Vincelett) Keene. Norman was a kind hearted man, always ready to lend a hand or pass on a joke. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. He was an Army veteran who served his country honorably. He lived in Enfield most of his life and was retired from Aetna. He was a parishioner of St. Martha Church and was very active in the St. Martha Players for over 20 years. Norm was musically gifted and enjoyed playing the piano and was a member of a Barbershop Quartet and the Insurance City Chorus. Norm is survived by his four children, Linda Keene, Timothy Keene and his wife Kathleen, David Keene, all of Enfield, and Kenneth Keene of Windsor, CT; fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marianne Keene, and his second wife, Therese Keene, as well as two brothers, and two sisters. His family gives special thanks to Jackie Tirpak who was his devoted caregiver for the past year. Calling hours will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Rd., Enfield. Committal will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
