Obituary for Selina "Liney" Daly (Hall)

Selina "Liney" (Hall) Daly, 96, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2016, at Bickford Health Care Center. She was born on November 24, 1919, in Ipswich, Massachusetts; a daughter of the late Albert and Edith (Rand) Hall. Selina was a registered nurse for many years and served in the United States Army Nurse Corps as a first Lieutenant during World War II from September 1, 1943 to June 9, 1946. After being discharged from the military she worked as a nurse for Hamilton Standard where she met her late husband John to whom she was married for many wonderful years. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens and working in the yard. Selina also enjoyed baking, especially cookies, reading the newspaper comics, and doing the daily crossword puzzles. She is survived by five children, Susan Daly Rouse and her husband Charles of Mercerville, NJ, Pamela Lapenta and her husband Rocco of Plantsville, CT, Timothy Daly and his wife Victoria of Somers, CT, Barbara Bizier and her husband Marcel Bizier of Marco Island, FL, and Jane Daly of Concord, NH; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Selina was predeceased by her husband John Joseph Daly, a son Peter Daly, brothers, Jonathon Hall, Wilmot Hall, William P. Hall, George Hall, Albert Hall, and Samuel Hall and sisters, Lois Hall and Mary Smith. All services will be held privately. Memorial donations in Selina's memory may be made to the Windsor Locks Lions Ambulance, P.O. Box 105, Windsor Locks, CT 06096. Somers Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
