Arthur George "Art"  Maynard
Arthur G. Maynard, 91, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace, Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. The son of the late Patrick and Laura (Ramsey) Maynard, Art was born in the Scitico section of Enfield and a lifetime resident of the community. He was a WWII Navy Veteran who served his country honorably and was a member of the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion. Art was employed at Springborn for 35 years retiring in 1988. Previously, he was employed at Bigelow Mill. He was past-president of the Scitico Community Assoc. and was a former member of the Hazardville Volunteer Fire Dept. He is survived by a brother, Ernest Maynard of Enfield, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Rita Sulewski and Claire Okon, and a brother, Donald Maynard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday morning prior to the procession. Committal, with military honors, will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery. Donations in Arthur's memory may be made to St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082, or to Disabled American Veterans, 43 Pearl St., American Legion Post #154 , Enfield, CT 06082.
