Irene (Jeffery) Gibbs, 100, peacefully passed away on June 9, 2018 at her residence in Gloversville, NY. Daughter of the late John Jeffery and Jennie Bernocco, she was born on June 23, 1917 in Windsor Locks where she resided for over 90 years. Irene worked as a machine operator at Montgomery Company before retiring in the early 1970s. She was a parishioner of St Mary Church, and enjoyed activities at the Windsor Locks Senior Center. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, and dancing. Irene had a lively personality and will be remembered for her jokes. She is survived by her son, Roger and his wife Susan of Clifton Park, NY; her grandchildren, Sarah DePasquale and her husband Jason of Clifton Park, NY, and Rachel Hannur and her husband Benjamin of West Orange, NJ; her great grandchildren Lorenzo DePasquale and Winston Hannur; her dear niece who took special care of her, Catherine Brown, and several other nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her brothers Anthony Jeffery, John Jeffery, George Jeffery, and Charles Jeffery; and her sisters, Delia Jeffery, Mary Rossi, Alice Kraiza, and Rose Jeffery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday June 14, 2018 from 9:30 am to 10:30 at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. Mary Church at 11:00 am. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mary, Gate of Heaven Parish, 42 Spring St., Windsor Locks CT 06096.
