Obituary for Anna Chapman

Anna Chapman
Anna Chapman, 78, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Paul Chapman, entered into eternal peace Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her home. Daughter of the late Jeremiah and Hannah (O’Connor) O’Leary, she was born on May 29, 1940, raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and later moved to Enfield. Anna married the love of her life, Paul, in 1963. Paul gave her the nickname “Molly” because of her strong Irish spirit. Together they raised a family, always working to give their children more than they had. Anna enjoyed a career as an office clerk at Olympia Sales where she worked for over 25 years. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Church. After Paul’s death, she found comfort in creating cherished memories with her grandchildren and granddogs. She was the best Grammie ever. We know she is at peace to be with Paul in eternity. Anna is survived by her children, Beth Schwartz and her husband Jeff of Bolton, Paul Chapman and his wife Kelly of Burlington, and Christopher Chapman and his wife Jill of Southington; her 7 grandchildren, Maeghan, Madison, Laura, Caelan, Elise, Hayden, and Kamryn; her brother James Leary of Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews; her devoted and faithful neighbors, Jan and Lew Wilby; and her beloved dog, Freddie. She was predeceased by her sister Catherine Kowszik and her nephew Andrew Kowszik.
Relatives and friends may join the family during visitation hours on Monday June 18, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 noon at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave. Enfield. Committal will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s memory may be made to Middletown Recreation Unified Theater, 61 Durant Terrace, Middletown, CT 06457.
