Obituary for David J. Vujs Sr.

David J.  Vujs Sr.
Sergeant Major David J. "Sarge" Vujs, Sr, USAR, 78, of Enfield CT, husband of Louise M. Vujs, passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2017. He was born in Hartford and was the son of the late John and Agnes Vujs and was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Cassarino. He graduated from Glastonbury High School where he was Captain of the Golf Team. He was employed by Royal Typewriter, Stanadyne Corp, and Barclays American and in retirement kept busy working at Casual Corner and The Hamlet Condo Association. When he wasn’t out playing 18 holes at many local area golf courses he'd traveled to see his grandchildren’s school, sports, or scouting activities. He retired after 35 years of service as a Sergeant Major with the United States Army Reserves, 76th Division (TNG), with assignments in East Windsor and West Hartford, CT. He was also selected as the Army Reserve Soldier of the Year for 1973. He leaves his wife of 54 years Louise M. Vujs, four children, Scott of Broad Brook, Keith and Kourtney of Enfield, David, Jr. of Granby, and Roxanne and George Konefal of Middlefield, 9 Grandchildren, Shannon, Zachary, Kendall, Cameron, Carson, Evan, and Addison Vujs, Lauren & Brooke Konefal, many cousins, friends, military colleagues, and his coffee buddies. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or any military charity of the donor’s choice.
