Obituary for Patricia M. Teigen (Morrison)

Patricia M. Teigen (Morrison)
Patricia M. Teigen passed at home to a greater life March 23, 2017 at age 81 of heart failure. She lived a good life. Pat was born in Hartford CT and raised in Poquonock and Suffield, CT. She started her education in a two room country school in Poquonock and finished at Suffield High School. She worked part time during high school in the Suffield Pharmacy and on nearby tobacco farms during the summer. After school she started work as a key punch operator for the Hamilton Standard Company. She then worked in the production area for Kaman aircraft, then was office manager for the Allen Motor Dealership, and finally as a receptionist for Combustion Engineering.
At Combustion she met her future husband, Bard C. Teigen. Pat and Bard were married 49 years. After marriage she began her favorite job of being a stay at home mom or to her two children; Lisa Teigen and Bard Daniel Teigen.
At age 55 Pat participated in a Doppler screen test at the Enfield Square, discovered a partially plugged carotid artery that was cleared by Dr Henry Low of Hartford Hospital. With a write up of the experience in the Journal Inquirer newspaper, she was hopeful about more people learning the importance of early health screening. Pat was later diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and worked for years to minimize its effect with a number of doctors and a variety of medicines. A heartfelt gratitude of thanks is given to those many doctors.
Pat had too many friends to number in her 39 years as a friend of Bill W.
Pat was predeceased by her parents Everett and Francis Morrison, of Suffield. She is succeeded by husband Bard Teigen, daughter Lisa Teigen and granddaughter Ashley Ann Worrell, son Dan Teigen and wife Susan and grandsons Sam and Quincy, and sisters Judy Spaulding and Susan Kemp(Robert). Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels,61 South Rd, Enfield, CT. A funeral service for Pat will be celebrated at 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at a time selected by the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
