Obituary for Vincent A. Benvenuto Sr.

Vincent A. Benvenuto, Sr., 81, of Enfield, husband of the late Nancy (Curran) Benvenuto, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at home with his family by his side. Vincent was born February 17, 1936, in Hartford, CT the son of the late Carmelo and Philomena (DeFilippo) Benvenuto. He proudly served in the United States Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. Vincent retired from the US Postal Service after more than 30 years of service as a Letter Carrier working in Hartford. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and loved to sit relax and read a good book. Vincent is survived by his nine children, Vincent A. Benvenuto, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen of Tewksbury, MA, Steven T. Benvenuto and his wife, Judy of Yorba Linda, CA, Patrick A. and his wife Pamela Benvenuto, Anthony M., Angela M. Benvenuto, Michael J. Benvenuto and his wife, Melissa, Christian P. Benvenuto and his wife, Liz, James M. Benvenuto and Gina A. Benvenuto all of Enfield; his grandchildren, Stefanie, Nicholas and Olivia Benvenuto, Annalecia Lemelin and her husband, Ryan, Kayla and Vincent J. Benvenuto, Sophia and Nina Benvenuto, Brianna and Haylee Vanraamsdonk, Brittany, Blake, Cade, Christian and Belle Benvenuto; a great-grandson, Ryker Lemelin; a sister, Lisa Benvenuto of NY. Vincent was predeceased by his siblings, Salvatore, Carmelo, and Andrew Benvenuto, Francis Spirito, Josephine Sarli, Phyllis Benvenuto, and Dolores Frascarelli. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent will be celebrated on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 11 am at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield. Please meet at the church. Vincent will be buried at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Vincent's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
