Obituary for Gilbert Mack Chamberland

Gilbert M. Chamberland, 97, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Thelma (Ouellette) Chamberland, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Hebrew Home and Health Care following a brief illness. Gilbert was born on May 17, 1919 in St. Agatha, ME and was the son of the late Maxime and Mary (Depree) Chamberland. Mr. Chamberland . He was retired from Lachance Farms of Enfield and was a veteran of WWII where he served in the United States Army during the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign. Gilbert was an Enfield resident since 1980 and was a communicant of St. Martha's Church. He was also a member of the American Legion of West Hartford and the Disabled American Veterans. Gilbert is survived by his four sons; Camille, Gilbert Jr., Rosaire and Alphonse, 2 daughters; Marie Cecile and Jeanne Nickerson, 2 brothers; Mack and Tony, and 3 sisters; Azilda, Alma, and Jeannette. Gilbert is also survived by his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 3 sons; Philip, Robert, and Joe; 3 brothers; Ted, Leo and Wallace and by one sister, Laurette. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown where he will be laid to rest with military honors.
