Perry A.  Mason Sr.
Perry A. Mason Sr., 86, of Somersville, entered into eternal peace Friday, May 19, 2017. The son of the late Benjamin and Amelia (Leffingwell) Mason, Perry was born in Whitehall, NY on May 28th, 1930 and was raised in Middletown Springs, VT. He was a Korean War Veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed by Kement Construction and later by Shawmut Equipment in Manchester where he worked for 42yrs before retiring at the age of 80. He was a life-member of the Connecticut Construction Industry Association (CCIA). Perry enjoyed camping with his family, stock car racing as well as racing vintage race cars for 10 years. He is predeceased by his 1st wife and mother to his children Vaughneta "Bonnie" (Damrow) Mason, two infant sons and a grandson Jeremy "Jake" Mason. He is survived by six children, Richard L. Mason Sr. and his wife Janice of Austin, TX, Linda H. Baker and her husband Randy of Apollo Beach, FL, Perry A. "PJ" Mason Jr. and his wife Linda of Laconia, NH, Duane L. Mason and his wife Terri of Somersville, CT, Roland H. Mason and his wife Cindy of East Hartford, CT, and Michael J. Mason and his wife Cindy of Enfield; a sister, Joyce H. Olczak of Pittsburgh, PA; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; a nephew Louis Earl Lamphear and his wife Dixie of Broad Brook; two additional nephews, and a niece; and a cousin Laura Castle and her husband Art of Middletown Springs, VT and Ruth (Loscocco) Mason of Mesa, AZ; two step-children, Greg and Adam LaPrad and their spouses and a granddaughter Grace.Visitation hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday May 25, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels 61 South Rd., Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at St. Mary Church in Windsor Locks. Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
