Gerard E. "Gerry"  Loubier
Gerard E. Loubier, (89), of Suffield, was reunited with his wife and true love Therese Loubier, who passed three days earlier(June 1, 2017) whom he had been married to for 67 years, Sunday, June 4, 2017 at River's Watch in Suffield. Born in Beauceville Quebec Canada Jan. 13, 1928, Gerry was the son of the late Adelard and Virginia (Mathieu) Loubier. He was raised in Waterville, ME moving to Enfield in 1955. Gerry proudly co-owned and operated Blue Ridge Construction for over 30 years with several parcels of land he developed including Blue Ridge Estates. He was a parishioner at St. Bernard Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Enfield. He and Therese were residents of Somers from 1968 to 1991 before moving to FL. He was Town Assessor for Somers and also worked for the State of CT as a caretaker of the Enfield Courthouse building during its transition from college to courthouse. He also served as a Special Deputy Sheriff for Tolland County for several years.
He is survived by three children, Bernard Loubier and his partner Jean Walden of New London, CT, Thomas Loubier and his wife Nancy of Somers, Michele Dubish and her husband Keith of Enfield; two brothers, Eudore Loubier of Stafford, Lucien Loubier and his wife Anita of Winslow, ME; his sister in laws Gloria Loubier of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Betty Loubier of Winslow Maine, and Jackie Vigue of Waterville Maine: five grandchildren, Bernie Loubier and his wife Wendy, Matt Loubier and his wife Tracey, Dan Loubier and his wife Jess, Tommy Loubier and his wife Michelle, and Brian Loubier and his wife Claire; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews .He was predeceased by Lionel, John, Laurier, Eugene "Babe" Loubier, and Marguerite Vigue, Delores Vigue, and Judy Gandy. The family would like to thank the staff of River's Watch for the care Gerry received. Visitation hours for both Gerard and Therese will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday June 8, 2017 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Family and friends may gather at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Leete-Stevens for a procession to St. Bernard Church in Enfield for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial for both Gerard and Therese. Burial is private.
