Print
Eileen F. Schiessl, loving wife of the late Wolfgang A. Schiessl, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford.
Eileen was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Thomas and Olivette (Charest) Jones, and resided in Somers for over 70 years. Eileen graduated from Rockville High School in Rockville, CT. Early in her life, she worked at MassMutual Insurance and then later for 26 years in the Department of Corrections as the Executive Secretary for several Wardens at the Carl Robinson Correctional Institution.
Eileen leaves behind two sons, Gary and his wife Kathy, of Somers; Kenn and his wife Ralene, of Greenville, Florida. She also leaves behind her devoted grandchildren; Courtney, Jon and Nick. She was predeceased by a daughter, Wendy Ann.
Eileen was dedicated to her family, supporting them in all of their endeavors. Whether it was putting up with her husband and sons running to fire calls in the middle of dinner, taking her children to all of their sports games and practices, or babysitting her grandchildren, Eileen was always there for them. A natural caregiver, she also tended to several family members during their final years.
Eileen also leaves behind a close circle of friends, some that go back to her childhood. She cherished the time spent with them.
