James K. "Jim"  Joyce
James K. "Jim" Joyce, 68, of Enfield, husband of Laraya (LeBer) Joyce entered into Eternal Rest on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Yale New Haven Hospital. Jim was born August 11, 1949, in Boston, MA the son of the late William and Helen (Bowlby) Joyce. He proudly served in the Army National Guard and was a parishioner of St. Martha Church where he once served on several committees. Jim formerly owned the IHOP restaurant in Hyannis, MA and retired in 2007 after 15 years with PFG in Springfield, MA. When his children were growing up, Jim could be found coaching either of his children's teams, whether it was baseball or basketball. He was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams. In addition to his wife, Laraya to whom he was married 35 years, he is also survived by two children, his son, Ryan Joyce and his wife, Megan of Enfield and his daughter, Danelle Martin and her husband, Ashley of Windsor Locks; a brother, Bill Joyce and his wife, June; a sister, Pam Mullins all of Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Gannon, Logan, Brianna and the anticipation of the arrival of his newest granddaughter, Zoey; several nieces and nephews and his best friends, Fran and Marcy McCarthy. Jim was predeceased by two sisters, Sandy Lawton and Penny Joyce and two brothers-in-law, Edward Lawton and Butch Mullins. Jim's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Yale New Haven Hospital and at St. Francis Hospital Cardiac Unit for the compassionate and wonderful care that was given to Jim. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, October 26, 2017, from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 9 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 am at St. Martha Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Rd., Enfield, CT 06082.
