Thornton E. "Buster" Young, 84, a lifelong resident of Enfield, CT passed away at Johnson Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Buster was born November 3, 1932 in Suffield, CT, the son of the late Edward and Flora (Aveyard) Young. After graduating from Morse College he pursued a career with Hamilton Standard. Buster enjoyed watching sports and for many years was an umpire for the Enfield Little League. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets. Buster loved trains as well as model trains. In addition to his beloved wife of 62 years, Caroline (Hussey) Young, Buster is survived by two sons, Edward Young of Hollywood, FL and Robert Young of Enfield, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela Young; and three sisters. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation hours on Monday Nov. 6, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
