Eugene "Jimmy" Markowski, 91, of Suffield, beloved husband of Victoria (Kryspin) Markowski for 70 years, entered into eternal peace Friday, November 10, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Born in the the village of Rzasnik Kolonia in Poland, he was the son of the late Anthony and Katherine (Nowak) Markowski. A lifetime resident of the Suffield community, Jimmy owned and operated his broadleaf tobacco farm in Suffield since the age of 18. He had a love for both farming and polka dancing. Besides his wife Victoria, Jimmy is survived by three children, Eugene Markowski and his wife Michelle of Suffield, Barbara Groszyk and her husband Edward of Suffield, and Irene Jardin and her husband John of West Simsbury; seven grandchildren, Martha Groszyk, Linda Groszyk, Elizabeth Hubbard, Jeffrey Jardin, Amy Sheiber, Allise Markowski, Christopher Markowski; three great grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, several nieces and nephews, and his dedicated friend and right-hand man, Zygmunt "Ziggy" Pudlo. He was predeceased by one brother. Jimmy's family requests that when your travels bring you down Harvey Lane in Suffield, that you remember him, and keep a kind memory of him in your heart.
