Obituary for Kevin A. Messina

Kevin Arnold Messina, 54 of Windsor Locks CT, departed this life, Wednesday November 22, 2017. Kevin was born December 8, 1962, in Hartford the son of the late Elizabeth (Mercey) Federko and John Messina. Kevin was married to his wife and friend Gail Messina for thirty plus years. Kevin was an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees, New York Giants and Michigan Wolverines. He spent many years enjoying bike riding and was deeply passionate about coaching little league baseball in Windsor Locks. He loved playing baseball and softball, playing on many championship teams. Kevin was employed for 20 years with the former Gem Electronic until their recent relocation to New Hampshire. He loved playing the guitar and attended many rock & roll concerts. Rolling Stones concerts with friends were his favorite times. He always put others ahead of himself and was willing to offer a hand to anyone in need. Kevin was a great friend to many and will be sincerely missed. In addition to his wife, Gail (Bigos) Messina of Windsor Locks, Kevin is also survived by his brother and his wife along with their two children, Mark and Nadia Martin of Murfreesboro, TN Alex Martin and Grace Rose Martin; his father–in-law, Edward Bigos of Suffield; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Ladny and her husband, Tony of Windsor Locks and Diane Rink and her husband, Jeff of West Suffield and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend Dave Althen and Mark Bean of Windsor Locks. Kevin is predeceased by his twin Keith Allen. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, from 10 am to 1 pm at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks. A funeral service celebrating Kevin’s life will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
