Shirley  Soucy (Thibedeau)
Shirley (Thibodeau) Soucy, 84, of Enfield, CT loving wife of 62 years to the late Fred Soucy entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital with her family by her side. Shirley was born September 6, 1933, in Eagle Lake, ME the daughter of the late Rinaldo and Jeanette (Gagnon) Thibodeau. Shirley and Fred moved to Enfield where they lived for over 45 years and raised their family. Shirley was employed with Olympic Cards in Enfield for several years and was a parishioner of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed tending to her garden, cooking, and canning the vegetables from her garden. Shirley will be remembered as the Matriarch of the Soucy family, especially for her unconditional love and care she had for her family. Shirley is survived by three children, Bruce Soucy and his wife, Jane of Windsor Locks, Donna Horrigan and Greg Stevens of Otis, MA and Fred Soucy and his partner, David Tedford of Middletown, CT; two beloved grandsons, Eric Soucy and his wife, Christine and Michael Soucy and his wife, Jen; four great-grandchildren, Rhea, Donald, Joshua, and Landon and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by a brother, Richard Thibodeau. The family would like to thank the Hospice Nurses and staff at St. Francis Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate care. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Bickford Health Care Center for their compassionate care given to their mother through the years. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, from 5 pm to 7 pm with a funeral service celebrating Shirley's life at 7 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Burial will be held in Eagle Lake Maine at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Shirley's memory may be made to Masonicare Partnership Home & Hospice, 111 founders Plaza # 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
