Obituary for James Patrick Roach

James Patrick  Roach
James Patrick Roach, 86, of Enfield, beloved husband of Amelia "May" (Kuselias) Roach for 52 years, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Lynn, MA January 20, 1932, the son of the late James P. and Margaret (Nally) Roach. At 17, Jim entered the U.S. Army where he was a paratrooper, serving during the Korean War. Following, he worked at American Airlines in Chicago and later was employed with Eastern Airlines at Bradley airport. He was a faithful parishioner of Holy Family Church where he served as an usher for many years. James was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Windsor Locks, as well as the John Maciolek Post #154 American Legion. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and loved fishing, especially when he was joined by his grandchildren. Jim also enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and stayed active at the Senior Center in Enfield. In addition to his loving wife, May, James is survived by two daughters, Holly Gluck and her husband, Mitchell of Port Chester, NY and Heidi Borski and her husband, Michael of East Longmeadow, MA; a brother, Richard Roach and his wife, Linda of Torrington, CT; a sister, Sr. Ann Dominic Roach, O.P. of Watertown, MA; four grandchildren, Jordan and Justin Gluck, and Kaitlyn and Ryan Borski; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation hours on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield, CT 06082. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Rd., Enfield, CT (Please meet at church). Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
