Gian Claudio  Improta
Gian Claudio Improta, 85, of Enfield, loving husband of 45 years to Lucy (Fuoco) Improta entered into Eternal Rest on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Hartford Hospital. Gian was born August 1, 1932, in Bayonne, France the son of the late Michele and Giuseppina (Esposito) Improta. Gian was born in France and raised in Naples, Italy and proudly served in the Italian Army as most young men of that time. He retired from Viking Office Supply in East Windsor after 17 years of dedicated service. Gian enjoyed tinkering on cars and loved tending to his yard. In addition to his wife, Lucy, he is also survived by four children, Michael Improta and his wife, April of Virginia Beach, VA, John Improta and his fiancée, Krista Rumore of Ft. Myers, FL, Lisa Improta of Atlanta, GA and Joseph Improta and his fiancée, Courtney Conroy of Enfield; six grandchildren, Krystal, Matthew, Bailey, Manuele Improta, Halie Boucher and Liam Improta; a brother, Alfredo Improta of Springfield, MA; three sisters, Angelina James of La Centre, WA, Yvonne Quagliaroli and her husband, Francis of Hampton Beach, NH and Elena Woods of Annadale, VA; a brother-in-law, Anthony Fuoco and his wife, Carol of Windsor Locks and several nieces and nephews. Gian was predeceased by a daughter, Cinzia Improta and a brother, Francesco Improta. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral procession will gather on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 8:30 am at the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 am at St. Patrick's Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Memorial contributions in memory of Gian may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
