Obituary for Clyde J. McDonald III

Clyde J. McDonald III
Clyde John McDonald III, 60, of Somers, beloved husband of Kathleen (Bailey) McDonald, lost his courageous battle to cancer on Wednesday May 30, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Clyde proudly served the State of CT Department of Corrections, first as a Correctional Officer (Guard) at the age of 22 and retired as Director of Field Operations, Corrections Managed Healthcare, UCONN in 2006. His career also included 30 plus years with H&R Block in Holyoke, MA.
Work was not his life. Friends, fishing, skiing, gardening, and music kept him in a good place. The most important part of his life was his family. Besides his wife Kathleen, he is survived by his children, Marybeth Boisvert and her husband Eric, Christina Lee and her husband Michael, Daniel McDonald and Marissa Fragomeni; He also leaves his mother-in-law, Mary Bailey of West Springfield, MA, two brothers-in-law, Jim Bailey and his wife Gwen of Rye, NH, Danny Bailey and his wife Carolyn of West Springfield, MA; and several nieces and a nephew who fondly called him "Uncle Clyde." The sunshine of his life was his grandson, Bentley Boisvert.
Clyde also leaves many friends from Childhood to the present who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth (Leonard) and Clyde John McDonald Jr. "Someone will wait eternally; someone who'll want your love oh so desperately; open your heart oh surely you'll see; Oh that the someone who really cares; who really cares is me....."Guess who" B.B.King.
