Elaine C. (Brown) Turgeon, 83, of Somers, CT devoted wife of the late Raymond Turgeon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born June 7, 1935, in Sangerfield, NY, the daughter of the late Wilson M. and Margaret (Mason) Brown. She lived most of her life in NY and CT and has been a resident of Somers for over 20 years. After many years of working as a Nurse for the Dominican Sisters in NY, she continued her profession as a Nurse Supervisor at Crestfield Rehabilitation Center in Manchester, CT. Elaine was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Enfield, CT and a proud member of the Red Hat Society. Working as a Hospice volunteer after finally retiring from the nursing profession, Elaine was a wonderful inspiration to all of those in her care, providing comfort and respite services to patients and their caregivers. She is survived by her six children: Diana McGinniss (James), Renee Kearney, Steven Turgeon, Thomas Turgeon (Dawn), Michael Turgeon (Yvonne), Shari Grzyb (Paul) of NY, ID and CT; three sisters, Janet Griebert, Sue Baumgartner (Norman), and Laurie Keith (George) and a brother, Terry Brown. Elaine was additionally blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Wilson and Fenton Brown and a sister, Lucinda Lou Brown. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be celebrated on Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 11 am at St. Bernard Church, 199 Stafford Ave. S., Waterville, NY. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be sent to Trinity Health of New England at Home, PO Box 1199 Enfield, CT 06083.
