Obituary for George A Dumas

George A. Dumas, beloved companion of 28 years to Judy Brewster, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Masonicare of Wallingford. Son of the late George and Esther Dumas (Connor), he was born on September 5, 1922. George proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the former Doric Lodge No. 94 A.F & A.M and Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed watching UCONN women’s basketball. In addition to Judy, George is survived by his son-in-law; Karl Murphy and his wife Connie of MI; his stepchildren; Bob Brewster and his wife Trish of FL, Laura Fontanella and her husband Dan of Tolland, and Jim Brewster and his wife Lisa of Hamden; his grandchildren, Matthew and David Murphy, Jessica Fontanella, Matthew Brewster, Sean O’Brien, and Brandon DeMichele. He was predeceased by his first wife Mildred (Carrigan) Dumas, his second wife Delores (Turkowski) Dumas, and his daughter, Donna Marie Murphy. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family during visiting hours on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield. A funeral service celebrating George’s life will follow the visiting hours at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield.
