Carleton O. Champagne, 88, of Enfield, beloved husband of 51 years to the late Marilyn (Noyes) Champagne peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at his home with his son and daughter by his side. He was born in Fairfield, ME, son of the late Bernard Champagne and Anna (Osborne) Champagne. Carleton had a lifelong interest in flying which led him to air training and photography. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and later obtained a license for solo flights in small plane piloting. On land he enjoyed horses, golf, motorcycles and cars, taking many trips to explore back roads and small towns. Carleton’s greatest passion was for his family. He was actively involved in Little League, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts with his children, and later attended sports and events for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carleton is survived by his children; Steven Champagne and his wife Jeanne of Enfield, and Lauren Champagne of Oregon; his grandchildren, Sara and her husband Charles, Christopher, and Natalie; and his great grandchildren, Tyler, Cole, Jackson, and Ava. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.leetestevens.com. Your loving smile and gentle face forever in our hearts. We love you Grandpa.
