Jane W. Turbak (Wagg)
Jane Wagg Turbak, 95, of Enfield and Somers, passed away peacefully at The Suffield House on May 5, 2017.

Jane was born on August 25, 1921 in Chicopee, MA, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Wagg, and grew up in Enfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry, on Dec. 22, 1989.

Jane was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and valued family over everything else. She was involved in many civic organizations over the years, and frequently served as treasurer. She was a proud 62-year member of The Enfield Woman’s Club, a member of The Enfield Historical Society, the Enfield Street School PTA, and The Bushnell Travel Club, making friends wherever she went.

Jane leaves her much-loved three children and their spouses: Joanne Hannan (Jim) of Escondido, CA; Marilyn Chaney (Bill) of Suffield, CT ; and John Turbak (Noreen) of Glastonbury , CT. She leaves her great-grandchildren: Britain, Stratton, Matisse, and Langston Chadwick; Tyler and Hailey Jane Hannan.; and great-granddaughter Chaney arriving later this year. She leaves a nephew and four nieces and their families on the Turbak side. She also leaves two step-grandchildren: Becky Sherman (Graham) and Keenan Tschauder. She will be missed by her two granddogs, Professor and Moxie, who brought great joy to her in her final years. She was predeceased by several in-laws and many friends.

Jane was very social and enjoyed family vacations and traveling to many countries around the world with Henry. She attended her high school reunions until she was unable to do so, and always kept up with old friends and neighbors. Her love of ice cream was legendary.

The family wishes to thank the staff at River’s Watch and The Suffield House for the care of Jane over the past six years. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 10. A memorial service will be at a later date.
